The year is 2347. Humanity, or what's left of it, clings to existence on the fractured remnants of once-great space stations, scattered like debris across the void. Earth? A distant, irradiated memory, a whispered legend of green fields and blue skies. We left in haste, fleeing the Scourge, a bio-engineered plague that twisted flesh and corrupted minds. Now, the Scourge, or what remains of it, follows us, an ever-present threat lurking in the shadows between the stars. You are a Scavenger, born and bred in the grimy, recycled atmosphere of Station Omega-7. Your life is a constant gamble, a daily struggle for survival. You sift through the discarded husks of dead ships, risking exposure to radiation and vacuum for a chance at salvage – a microchip worth a few credits, a canister of recycled water, anything to keep you and your crew breathing. Omega-7 is a melting pot of survivors, each with their own agendas and secrets. You'll find grizzled veterans of the old Earth military, desperate for a way back to a world that no longer exists. There are cunning merchants, willing to trade anything for the right price, and shadowy figures whispering promises of salvation…or damnation. Then there are the Zealots, followers of the Prophet, who believe the Scourge is a divine punishment and seek to appease it, often at the expense of everyone else. But the stakes are about to get higher. Whispers are circulating about a derelict, a ghost ship drifting far beyond the known sectors. The 'Hope' they call it, an experimental vessel said to hold the key to curing the Scourge, or perhaps, destroying it completely. The corporations, the rogue factions, even the Zealots – they all want it. And so do you. Hope is a rare commodity in this desolate future, and you're willing to risk everything to get your hands on it. Prepare yourself, Scavenger. The void is a cold and unforgiving place. Trust no one.
